Orego-Stim® Powder Reduces Coccidia Oocyst Shedding in Weaned Lambs
Compromised gut health is estimated to cost the UK poultry Industry over £42 million annually due to coccidiosis and up to £0.04/bird due to necrotic enteritis.
Broilers fed Orego-Stim had comparable performance to the anti-coccidial treatment.
Orego-Stim still allows for coccidial recycling in the litter which is essential for the development of natural immunity against coccidiosis.
Coccidiosis is an intestinal infection ubiquitous to poultry and is caused by several different species of Eimeria. Infection seriously impairs poultry growth and feed utilisation (Yun et al., 2000).
Reducing the severity of coccidiosis can enhance performance and improve profitability.
What is Coccidiosis?
Coccidiosis is a common intestinal infection that plagues all poultry, caused by protozoan parasites of the Eimeria group. Infection can seriously impair bird growth and lead to increased mortality.
Since moving from Sydney to a rural property almost 20 years ago the pigeons have only had tank water to drink which I've long suspected was the primary cause of the inconsistent droppings that I have experienced ever since. As soon as I began using Salgard in the water the improvement in their droppings was almost instantaneous and have remained that way ever since. Have also noticed that they are shedding a lot more down feathers which is another indicator of good health. The Salgard is used in the water in conjunction with Orego Stim which I've been using regularly for many years. Could not be happier with the results.
Orego-Stim is being used by a lot of budgerigar breeders. I have used Salgard and find my birds are in good health. Watch the use rate on orego-stim, 1 ml to 3 litres which means it is very economical to use. Would prefer to review after the breeding season but look forward to improved fertility and healthy chicks.
Salgard, assists the birds to maintain there health during the stressful time of breeding and molting season
